FeMS Bootcamp '22 Recap

WACCBIP, Legon, Ghana

The 2022 FeMS Bootcamp was held in Legon, Ghana from November 17–19, 2022 and brought together 69 undergraduate and graduate women in STEM from diverse academic and professional backgrounds.

This intensive three-day program—created by African women for African women—featured interactive workshops, keynote talks, breakout sessions, and a career exposition with industry and research partners including WACCBIP, DCL Laboratory Products, RISA, and Glory Healthcare. Participants engaged in skill-building sessions on financial literacy, personal branding, problem-solving with code, and social entrepreneurship, alongside discussions addressing the lived experiences of women in STEM, leadership, and balancing career and family life.

The impact of the 2022 Bootcamp was significant: 85% of participants reported satisfaction with their experience, and over half found the program directly relevant to their career development. Testimonials highlighted increased confidence, expanded professional networks, and a strong sense of sisterhood and belonging.

The 2022 FeMS Bootcamp reaffirmed EFeMS’ commitment to building inclusive pathways, amplifying the voices of African women in STEM, and cultivating the next generation of leaders, researchers, and innovators across the continent.
